So... the situation at my apartment has gone from bad to worse due to bad management. I'm a fairly understanding fellow, but this is ridiculous.
We've had no help at repairing things (and I don't have any idea how to fix the sink pipes, or regular ones, for that matter) and there was bad dry rot when we moved into the place. However, we've stuck it out, mainly because it's too hard to move elsewhere... (and due to a divorce a few years ago, I have bad credit...><)
But now the management has pulled a stunt that I will not let pass. They are trying to evict us because of the pipe damages and say that my apartment is filthy (if you can call a few unwashed dishes, a laundry hamper full of clothes needing washing, and a little bit of lived in clutter filthy.) and a health hazard. I know it is not, and have willingly volunteered to have the health department come by to check up on things. Here's where it starts to get stupid. The moment I volunteered, they suddenly didn't want to have the department come by. Why? There is dry rot, mold, and old un-maintained piping and whatnot in the apartment. It's not something a resident has to deal with, but something that management should have taken care of long ago. They want us out (we're supposed to be out already) by monday. As if that is going to happen.
I've no other place to go, and legally they can't do a thing until they get an actual eviction notice from the court. Which I will fight all the way. (We're still leaving, just not right off. All I want is more time.... a few weeks at most... to find a new place)... They have been lying to us and then they made a statement today that will be regretted later. I am mentally disabled... and they made a comment-an insulting one-about it when we were trying to negotiate with them. it's against the law and offensive...
SO... yeah...things are going swell here. I'll be on and off for a bit, mostly to check up on y'all... But shortly now, I should have enough to go buy another copy of both books. I'm still annoyed by that. I just barely got the things and they are now ruined....>< Swell, isn't it?
